In this chapter we explore how to connect, format, partition, and use computer disks that store data. These disks may be internal to the computer of plugged in externally. The main types are hard disk drives (HDD), solid state drives (SSD), and universal serial bus (USB) connected thumb drives. External disk drives may also be connected using USB.
