The most recent commit message can be changed to a new message using:
Note that this will also commit any staged changes. The command will not commit any unstaged changes.
If the changes have already been pushed to the repository then a forceful commit will be required, noting that this will overwrite the remote branch with your local branch, losing any commits from the remote branch that are not in your local branch.
