95 Web Sites
20210902
The World Wide Web is the collection of web sites that we have created as a whole world community that sits on top of the Internet. The WWW uses the hyper text transfer protocol (HTTP) and the hyper text markup language (HTML) that was developed by Tim Berners-Lee of CERN.
This chapter covers setting up and managing web sites. To build simple, static web sites based on templates and Markdown, the recommended framework is jekyll. See Section 95.6.
For more broadly interacting with the Internet see Chapter 41.
