The firebird database originated from Borland’s release of the InterBase source code. On Ubuntu it can be installed as:
Basic operation:
$ sudo isql-fb
SQL> CONNECT 'clinc.fdb' USER 'kayon' PASSWORD 'mysecret';

Setup a sample database:
Connect to the database:
Database: employee.fdb, User: SYSDBA
SQL>
Select the data from the table:
SQL> select * from employee;
